"Life is wonderful."

I wasn't excited about the Olympics to begin with, but I'm glad that it won me over.
From waking up before the crack of dawn to chase Arnold Schwarzenegger with the torch, to seeing the torch pass by for the first time, and then feeling the same rush the second time, to singing O Canada on the Canada Line with an entire train of strangers, to crowding around a tiny TV in Kal-el's kitchen and crying when Crosby scored that winning goal... The entire country celebrated at the same time.

What a way to unite a city that is so culturally diverse.
Being nineteen during the 2010 Winter Olympics was an amazing experience.

I tried to find the perfect photo of Vancouver to go with this post, but I couldn't find one that properly illustrated the way that I see this city. Or the way that you see it. But I realized that I already know what it looks like and what it means to me. And so do you.

PS, FOURTEEN GOLD MEDALS, BITCHEZZZZZ. NEW RECORD. Suck on that, America.
