It was an innocent kiss made on impulse, and yet he felt as if he had been waiting his entire life for it to happen. As he pulled away, his heart beat loudly in his ears while he searched her eyes for some kind of emotion, an answer to his unspoken question.
She stared back at him, silent, expressionless.
Shit, he thought. I shouldn't have done that.
It felt like an eternity before she finally smiled, and slowly whispered the words that would change their lives forever.
