(According to the UBC sororities website)
Did You Know:
* There are over 400 leadership positions in the UBC Greek community alone?
* Greeks are more likely to graduate than other university undergraduates?
* 85% of Fortune 500 companies are run by Greeks?
* Students who join sororities are 28% more likely to return to university the following year than students who choose not to join
* Greeks rate their university life happier than other undergraduates and are more involved in campus activities than non-members?
* Greek alumni have higher average incomes than non-Greek alumni after graduation, even after accounting for parents' educational levels, graduation year, and gender?
* Greek-affiliated alumni are involved in more civic organizations and contribute more financially to charitable organizations than non-Greek alumni; and that sorority involvement correlates positively with citizen involvement and charitable giving later in life?
... I think that I might be joining a sorority. First year was such a drag and I was never at school for longer than I needed to be. I'm always dreading school, so I might as well find a reason to enjoy it. If it's true that Greeks rate their university life happier, then this may be what I need to be doing. I mean, high school was wayyy more interesting because of my extra curricular activities, so it should be the same in university... right?
