So, today, I won tickets (via a Live Nation Twitter contest) to see a band called Great Big Sea.
...Uh... Anybody ever heard of them? Yeah, neither had I. Apparently they've had four certified platinum albums and five certified gold.
When I entered, I didn't think I'd win the contest, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to enter it. I'm only excited because I've never won a contest before! I decided to find out who Great Big Sea is and after a quick YouTube search, I know that I'm going to see a Newfoundland/Labrador based group of singers who perform sea shanties and Celtic rock. Who even knew that Celtic rock existed?!?! When I think sea shanties and Celtic rock, I imagine a lot of drunken Irishmen on a fishing boat. Maybe it won't be so bad? I've been listening to their music and forcing myself to like it. I don't know if it's working, but I've got a whole month.
