My eight year old niece came over to visit, today. It seems like she doubles in height every time I see her. It makes me sad because I feel like I'm missing out on her life, but at least she's fun to talk to, now. I mean, little kids are cute and all when they are babies, but then they start to grow up and there is that weird stage when they are either REALLY annoying or REALLY shy. My niece (thankfully) was shy, so she didn't talk much. But now, she talks a whole lot. I discovered that we share a love of Selena and Demi, as well as Zac Efron in 17 Again. She also said that she really likes VaneXXXa Hudgens.... I just nodded my head in agreement. I am not going to be the one to tell her that her favourite Disney star's girly parts are easy viewable with a quick Google search.
Anyway, I'm writing this blog because something she said made me laugh, today. She was telling me about how the boys at her school won't share their toys and let the girls play Pokemon with them.
I rolled my eyes and said distastefully, "Boys!"
She sighed and replied, "Yeah, boys are SOOO selfish."
She is so wise for her age. They grow up so fast. I really, really hope that she does not grow up to be a TNA clad, bottle-blonde, smokey-eyed stereotypical Viet chick. Plleeeease, if there is any justice in the world, this will not happen.
