Soooo, what's going on?
Well, the swine flu... oops, excuse me, I mean the "H1N1 Virus" (which it is now being called, apparently... I prefer "swine flu" though) is spreading across the seas. It feels like we are in some kind of movie in which a disease kills everyone but leaves Will Smith and his dog behind. If there was a disease going around, I think I'd rather die than be left behind with a dog and a bunch of zombies. Anyway, yes, the swine flu is spreading across the seas and is sending fear into the heart of... my mother.
According to her, I need to stay inside as much as possible, in order to avoid contact with the virus. It sounds logical enough, but seems like a waste of the beautiful weather. I'm enough of a germophobe, and I wash my hands constantly, so let's hope that nobody with the flu wants to shake my hand or make out. My mother, on the other hand, is ten times the germophobe that I am. This whole swine flu epidemic reminds me of the time that SARS was the scary disease floating around. Of course, at that time, SARS was pretty much based in Toronto, but that didn't stop my mom from having a mini freak out. I was kind of hoping that her lack of TV watching and radio listening would keep her from finding out about the swine flu, but I guess she has found another way to stay informed (she's always telling me different ways to prevent cancer and stuff... I don't know where she gets it all from). I hope that she doesn't ask me to wear one of those carpenters' masks when I go out. I doubt that she would, but I wouldn't put the thought past her.
On a different topic, a lot of people are quitting their jobs at my store. I'm pretty sure that it's because of the new manager we have (hahahaha x infinity and lollerskates!). I was beginning to think that I was the only one who wasn't her biggest fan and was hesitant to ask anyone what they thought of her (it didn't really seem very professional). Thank god I'm not the only one, though. I talked to my mom about her, and she said that I shouldn't worry and that a lot of managers (and I quote) "think that they are better than their employees" but are really "stupid" because they were too lazy to go to school and get real jobs. She told me to just do my job and to be as nice as I can (even if I have to be fake) when I have to be. I totally did not expect that response from her, and it was just what I needed to hear. I love my mom.
I think that I will end this blog by saying that if you have been to Mexico recently, or are planning to go soon, we can't be friends for a while because I don't want a deadly virus. I'm sorry, but it's for the best..................................... just kidding!!!!
But seriously. Call me up, send me instant messages... but otherwise, stay away from me. Okay, bye!
