"Just stay."

EPIPHANY.
  • When I first saw Thumbelina, I was three, and I cried/didn't want to finish the movie because I was afraid of the frogs... and the beetle.. and the mole. All three of them tried to get in the way of Thumbelina and the Prince's happy ending.

  • When I first saw Aladdin, I was four, and I cried/ran out of the room when Princess Jasmine got trapped in the hourglass. Aladdin's chances at saving her looked grim.

  • When I first saw The Wizard of Oz, I was five, and I cried because the evil witch really, really scared me. I didn't finish The Wizard of Oz until I was much older.
Even when I watch a movie that I've seen before, I get so uncomfortable during the sad parts. I wish that I could just skip through them and see the happy ending.
... I think that I am a huge sucker for happy endings but am too afraid to stick around (to see whether or not a happy ending will occur) when things get scary. That makes a lot of sense, life-wise, to me.
