"There's nothing in your eyes, but slightly amused, an offer of me you, politely refused."

This is a picture that I took, five minutes ago, of William (look, he finally got a haircut!) and I being emo in Nanaimo Nan-emo.

Sigh.

It's cold and kind of dusty here, but the house that we're staying in is a lot nicer than the one that we stayed in, a few months ago.
... At least this one didn't used to be halfway house. There are no scary, XXX-rated magazines lying around. At the other house, I would find porno mags randomly placed in miscellaneous drawers around the house. It was gross. It's not even the fact that there were nasty pictures of naked women on the covers, it's the fact that there were probably nasty men, doing nasty things, while looking at the pictures of the nasty, naked women.

Anyway.

I miss home already! Like I already said, it is quite cold here. There isn't even a heating vent in this room. I miss my boulder bed. I miss my heater (I should have brought that!!!).
... I miss my high-speed internet connection (I'm using some public connection, right now. It took me like, 92348028430924 tries and refreshes before I could finally connect properly!).

Ugh! What a waste of a spring break. Not even my new, super soft jeans can make me feel better.

... Thao Nguyen kind of does, though.

Who's that?

... Let me introduce you to THAO NGUYEN AND THE GET DOWN, STAY DOWN!
If you click on the link above and visit their Myspace page, listen to Chivalry.
"It's a good song," says William.
I agree.
Anyway, the reason why I am blogging about this band is not because they make amazing music and are female led, it's the fact that they're led by a VIETNAMESE female that makes them SO awesome! Yayyyy, yayy, yayyy! Can you say, HOPE FOR THE FUTURE?

Ha ha ha, okay, maybe I won't be able to make super cool folk music like Thao Nguyen, but still, don't you think that there should be more Asians in the North American music industry?
